Coeliacs disease

People with celiac disease have a intolerance to gluten, a protein found in many foods such as pasta and pasta. When these types of food are eaten by such individual, the body’s immune system attacks the small intestine due to the gluten. Hence nutrients normally obtained from these foods are not absorbed into the blood.

The cause of the disease is unknown, but there may be genetic factors involved. Symptoms of celiac disease include:
Gas and bloating
Changes in bowel movements
Weight loss
Feeling very tired
Weakness

Celiac disease is diagnosed by a doctor, and treatment usually involves simply avoiding foods which contain gluten.

There are many gluten free alternative breads and pasta's available from your local pharmacy. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
