Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a condition in which the brain receives too much electrical impulses. This results in epileptic fits or seizures. Epilepsy can affect anyone. The exact cause of epilepsy is not know, but there are some common triggers of the seizures, such as flashing lights.

The process of having a seizure is not normally life threatening, unless it persists for more than 30 minutes. The dangers of a seizure result more so from the surroundings, for example a seizure at the top of a flight of stairs may result in broken bones.

If some one experiences a seizure, you should:
Call 999
Do not restrain them
Remove any objects from the environment that may cause them to injure them selves such as furniture
Do not attempt to move them if they are unconscious
