Gas

Passing gas is common in many people. It is when the body releases gases created during the digestion of foods. The bad smell associated with gas is normally due to methane or ammonia. Gas that forms after eating meat and eggs tends to smell bad, while gas from fruits and vegetables usually does not have an odour.

Common causes of gas include:
Swallowed air
Constipation.
Medicines or nutritional supplements.
A medical condition, such as a bowel obstruction or Crohn's disease.

Gas may be prevented by avoiding certain foods which cause the body to pass wind, such as beans. Talk to your pharmacist today for more information on gas.
