Gastroenteritis

This is the inflammation of the stomach and intestines. It is caused by a viral infection, and is commonly referred to as the "stomach flu" (although it is not actually caused by the influenza virus responsible for the flu)
Symptoms of gastritis vary among individuals, and in many people there are no symptoms.

However, some of the most common symptoms include:
Watery diarrhoea and vomiting
Headache, fever, and stomach ache

In general, the symptoms begin 1 to 2 days following infection, and may last for 1 to 10 days, depending on which virus causes the illness.

Viral gastroenteritis is contagious; the viruses spread through close contact with infected persons. Individuals may also become infected by eating or drinking contaminated foods or beverages.

Talk to your pharmacist or doctor for more details on gastroenteritis.
