The service is open to adults and children over one year who have red, weeping, or crusted patches that appeared suddenly, especially around the mouth, nose, or hands. You should attend as soon as you notice new sores because impetigo spreads by touch and the fluid is highly infectious. Those with widespread rash, fever, diabetes, or a weakened immune system also benefit from rapid assessment, as they may need oral antibiotics rather than cream. Babies under one year, patients with blisters inside the mouth, or anyone feeling acutely unwell should go straight to a GP or urgent care for specialist review.
